“Designed for life” is the main inspiration that moved us to create the new Vimec V6S platform stairlift among the removing barriers solutions. With this product we aimed at delivering technology, reliability, and a contemporary look in a segment that often overlooks these values. The collaboration between V12 Design and Vimec, with its 40 years of experience and more than 50,000 stairlifts installed all over the world, has been signed in the name of “design enhances function” concept instead of “design follows function” one: every line, every surface has been designed concurrently with each functionality thus contributing to V6S visual clarity and ease of use. The overall shape is clean and distinctive: the ribbon-like chamfered front cover adds a touch of softness, whilst the other surfaces echo the same sense of robustness and longevity as its high-quality internal components. As matter of fact, despite its lightweight look and aluminium body, Vimec V6S features a “rack and pinion” transmission with double chain system, carries up to 300 kg and has an IP 44 rate. All the control points have been well looked after both from the visual and the tactile point of view. The distinguishing on-board control panel includes well-sized pushbuttons to help users with reduced hand mobility and a backlit display, perfectly visible also in case of direct sunlight. The remote floor control has only two buttons bringing any difficulty of use to zero. The LED bars placed above the COP panel and inside the side bumpers give the users immediate feedback on the status of the machine. Vimec V6S is entirely made of recyclable materials, and it comes in two standard colours, papyrus white and anthracite grey, but can be customised with any RAL colour or graphics through wrapping technique. The proprietary MyVimec app will set a benchmark for the stairlift market: users will be able to control the unit and installers to configure the machines directly from their cell phones. An optional gateway installed on the machine allows installers and dealers to access their fleet data directly from Cloud. When it comes to safety, V6S has no rivals – it is the most compliant to the reference norm EN 81-40 in the platform stairlift market. In addition, the “rescue mode” allows the user to close the machine autonomously with two simple operations – no more blocked stairlift on the stairs.
