Rpbw is a modular contract sofa made of QM Foam available with fabric or leather upholstery. The seating element has an incoming plinth in the lower part. For the upholstery, the 3 bodies are made of 12 mm plywood, 2 for the armrests and one for the seat and back together. The bodies are made of QM Foam and Dacron. The 3 elements are upholstered in the same fabric. After upholstery, the 3 bodies are attached to each other. The plywood is finished with black felt in the lower part. The base is mounted with feet in the lower part.
The furniture for the RPBW collection is a result of a long design process in close cooperation between Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris and SDC_lab. This resulted in some standard pieces, but besides this also a lot of custom pieces have been designed for the project of the SNCFF in Athens, open since 2017 for public. The intention was to design seating elements that would perfectly combine into different settings.
