Haru and So are a harmonious pair of hand-blown glass lamps, perfectly matched in colour, light and form, which can be used as stand-alone pieces or combined with each other. The shared patterns of the diffuser and outer form create a unique and cohesive aesthetic, complemented by the layered construction of the hand-blown glass. The manipulation of the outer form creates two distinct silhouettes with a balance of shapes and variations. The use of hand-blown glass adds texture and depth, resulting in an extraordinary and functional work of art.
The HARU and SO collection of glass lamps is a showcase of craftsmanship and material-based approach to design. With a modern aesthetic, the two lamps blend together, sharing a complementary language of radiating shapes. While SO curves upwards to intimately cradle its diffuser, HARU has an inverted lip that invites light to escape: the shapes are hand-blown, so each, while seemingly precise, is subtly different. HARU and SO exude a solid, precious quality, the colour of which is controlled by the thickness of the glass and the amount of coloured glass added to the furnace during the blowing process. The lamps are handmade in Australia by skilled glass artists and incorporate centuries of glass craftsmanship distilled into modern forms. HARU and SO are sculptural objects that glow with a unique colour gradient that changes as light passes through the entire object. Used in bars, restaurants, hotels or in the home, HARU and SO lights lend interior spaces an enriched materiality and distinctive design.
