chouchou high (new product 2019): The tallest member of the family, the chouchou high features elongated arches and a solid top to rest life’s objects. Rough edges and uneven lines are testament to a hands-on approach to production. Finished in either a mottled glaze to highlight these imperfections or a gloss finish to contrast, a unique ceramic form is exposed.With its soft curves, bumpy corners and hands-on approach to form, the chouchou series of stools and tables is a playful group.Their ambiguous forms speak as much to a sculptural artwork as to a spot to sit or place ones items.The story of chouchou is that of chance. The work of designer Lorenzo Zanovello, they were spotted one day deep in a ceramic factory in Italy. Like the joy of stumbling across a chouchou cart in France; their distinct forms a substitute for the caramelized smell of its peanut candy namesake. Just too hard to resist, we have decided to share it with the world. Their ceramic forms add a tactile feel to the chouchou series. Available in a series of mottled glazes, or a more classic gloss black, blue or rose, these shapes speak to the history of ceramic design in a contemporary form.
