What makes it unique is the glass sphere’s particular three-dimensional effect, obtained by placing the incandescent glass inside a metal mold with small pyramid-shaped tips. This technique creates a raised criss-cross pattern on the glass, which looks almost like a soft matelassé fabric. The hollow sphere contains a dual light source that allows a gentle glow to softly filter from the inside, enhancing the glass’s fine nuances, and at the same time projects an unfiltered light beam downwards.
