We made her solid-oak seat hover a few centimetres above the powder-coated steel legs, to add a touch of Gazzda airiness. Product info: Seat: Oiled oak Legs: Powder coated steel Our goal was to create a bar chair and table that could easily be wooden sculptures, presented on a crafty steel frame. Due to the strong contrast between the steel and wood materials – which are both natural and strong, but so different. So different, but yet again so perfect to combine. To us, that is fascinating and worthwhile to highlight. We achieved this by using different colours of steel and applying (next to oak) an almost forgotten wood type – ash. It is equally strong as oak, but has a distinct bright colour and grain. In Norse Mythology, the tree of life (Yggdrasil) was commonly thought to be an ash tree. It just so happened, that while we were developing these products, our colleague Enes had a baby, which was the first one within our team and she was called Leina. Without hesitation, Mustafa did the same for his ash bar chair and table, which are his first Gazzda creations.
