Made Studio once again looks to nature for inspiration for its new collection of rugs for GAN. The departure point for Saline is a push to lend texture and warmth to outdoor spaces, as well as the extraordinary creative potential of 100% recycled PET in the hands of artisans skilled in the hand loom technique. Like Made Studio’s other creations for GAN, Raw and Pure, Saline is a curated selection of hand-loomed designs from India based on a timeless, neutral colour palette. The collection is available in four different versions in a range of earthy and mineral colours: black, white, terracotta and green. Four shades achieved by combining different cords—smooth or zigzagged marbled—in recycled plastic fibres that were dyed, spun and braided in India. Recycled PET cords form both the warp and weft of Saline rugs, in a technical display that achieves optimum tension and strength using this material while offering a delicate aesthetic with a vibrant touch. The designs are thus 100% circular and take full advantage of the benefits of certified PET, such as easy maintenance and excellent weather performance.
