Информация
For the 50° anniversary of the Cassina iMaestri Collection, the bond between the company and the maestro is celebrated with Principi, a model that is part of the research process that began in the 1950s to develop the wooden chair par excellence. Designed in 1960, Principi was included in the furnishings of the iconic hotel designed by Ponti from which it takes its name, the Parco dei Principi in Rome.
Gio Ponti's unmistakable style gave shape to this chair that has a distinctive and refined design. The uniqueness of this model lies in the open-pore ash frame, enhanced by haute woodwork details. Thanks to the craftsmanship of Cassina's carpentry workshop, the backrest stands out for a particular cut that recalls the shape of a diamond, achieved with an elaborated process that not only gives Principi an evocative aesthetic, but also provides a wider and more welcoming support. This sense of comfort is also enhanced by the padded seat
upholstered in either leather or fabric.
Strong colours
Principi's iconic design has been further updated with four elegant shades - white, Vermiglione red, Cielo light
blue and black – selected and inspired by the maestro's kaleidoscopic ceramics.
Authenticity imprinted
With the inclusion of Gio Ponti in the Cassina iMaestri Collection, the rear crosspiece of the base of each chair
bears a silkscreen print of the logo and the author's signature, a guarantee that characterises the entire
collection, together with its progressive production number.
