The pleasure of looking out of the window and smiling. Knowing that outside our house, in the garden or on a terrace, there are those accessories that we have chosen and carefully arranged to give the open space some fixed points towards which we can move our gaze and from which we can feel reciprocated. A feeling summed up perfectly by the essential lines of the Linfa series.
Chairs and stools whose main character is an unconventional irony, in the harmonious balance of their geometries, interpret a standard of classical elegance. On the surface of their solid base, a lacquered truncated cone available in a palette ranging from the most neutral tones of Air Force blue, light cyan and ivory to bold touches of purple, the surrounding scenery is reflected and inevitably deformed. A dance of refractions from which unexpected plays of light emanate.
The seats, resting on a swivel support, are made of natural iroko, and in the hazelnut grain of the wood moulded into the shapes of a minimalist design we find that sense of security that only timeless objects, which mature as we do, can convey. This is the contemporary interpretation of the outdoors that Studiopepe has created for Baxter.
Like small safe harbours, sculptural forms whose profile draws unprecedented spatial trajectories, Linfa’s items invite us to rethink our approach to the outdoors, to interpret it and experience it not only as a break from everyday life but as a creative possibility to be explored even during the cold seasons. Reassuring presences, arranged around a table or left free to enhance the streams of aggregation that come alive in the outdoors, their silhouettes point us towards possible new perspectives.
