Named for the Vela constellation, the spherically formed luminaires use the Rakumba Typography rail system as the axis of an orbital space. Distinctive discs can both frame or obscure the decorative arrangement of spheres, creating an interplay of light and shadow. The seven unique fittings within the collection can be positioned anywhere along or around the Typography rails. In turn, the rails can be combined in vertical or horizontal orientations creating pieces of quiet simplicity, or incredible grandeur. It is possible to select from Rakumba’s curated suite of compositions, or create a unique sculpture. Vela is the second stand-alone collection in the Typography Series by Studio Truly Truly and Rakumba. Through authentic design and composition, Typography establishes a new language in decorative lighting.
