Classic

Classic is a bar stool in beech wood with a round frame deformed from a single piece, elegantly curved back legs, diagonal front legs. Available in beech and oak in different colors. In 2018 horgenglarus decided to add a high-legged version who’s design, materials and look match those of the classic 1-380, but the seating is 80 cm heigh. The challenge was to modify the geometry of the individual components in such a way that they adapt to the ergonomic requirements of a bar stool while visibly maintaining its proximate relationship with the classic 1-380. As a new element, a ring made from edged chrome-nickel flat steel or black powder-coated steel was added to interlink the legs and trace the seat frame’s geometry. The steel ring on its own is used as a foot rest from a structural point of view, it is not needed because the highly stressable alliance of seat frame and legs is fully sufficient even for greater seating heights.
