Named after a Dutch folk hero celebrated in Van Duysen’s home town of Antwerp, the Brabo lounge collection deftly blends fine materials such as wood, metal and leather to create a timeless collection of seating and table offerings. “There was a lot of fine-tuning to arrive at just the right balance of materials,” he says. “Because the structure is exposed, the subtlety of the transitions was essential. It had to be beautiful from every angle.” In addition to their beauty, each piece in the line is produced sustainably at a plant that uses water-based stains and sealers, low VOC finishes and wood harvested from sustainably managed forests.
