R-EVOLUT is the new technology, patented by CEDA, that reinvents the way of making conglomerate products. From its application, a new line of outdoor flooring is born that is more "Eco Friendly" (less CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and less use of potable water in the mix) and with Evolute properties that make it much more similar to a ceramic than to a product made entirely of Portland cement. This significantly increases durability over time and reduces routine maintenance. The visible part is made using MATTER+ a new ecological binder and special aggregates, including recycled ones, that give the surface layer innovative properties, both functional and performance. Although different, the new mix adheres perfectly to the traditional concrete base, forming a single body with it. The visible surface is available in two versions: straight or stone effect. The base layer, on the other hand, is made of traditional concrete, with the addition of hydrophobising agent and the use of recycled industrial sands, increasing the basicity of the mix. MATTER+ is the natural and ecological binder, specially developed for CEDA and at the base of the R-EVOLUT Technology, which makes it possible to obtain a conglomerate with enhanced characteristics, compared to those obtained with Portland cement, through the same production process. Inspired by past history, this binder belongs to the category of inorganic materials: it is produced artificially using waste materials and has an alumina-silicate base. It is obtained by means of an environmentally friendly industrial process because it not only avoids the high-temperature treatment of limestone (marl) required for the production of cement clinker, but also because it is made up, to a significant extent, of waste materials from other industrial processes. Studied by many Italian and foreign universities and major public and private research centres, it is considered the most sustainable answer to traditional Portland cement. The use, in the visible part, of the new conglomerate with the MATTER+ binder makes it completely similar to a traditional self-locking block, in terms of mechanical performance and intended use. The result is an innovative product, totally new in concept and intrinsic properties and with the same minimum required properties. The binder's compatibility with countless waste materials, both organic and inorganic, has enabled the noble reuse of materials otherwise destined for disposal. Waste becomes a resource. This allows an approach towards a true Circular Economy. The formulation of these mixtures (mix-design) based on ground waste glass, brick powder, waste wood or undifferentiated waste plastic, has thus allowed the reuse of materials otherwise destined for disposal. This not only has a significantly lower impact in terms of CO2 emissions than conglomerate with Portland cement, but also makes use of the properties of the materials themselves. The overall balance of recycled materials within these products has brought the 5% threshold defined by CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria) towards the 15% threshold for a standard product, in a much more environmentally friendly manner and with the possibility of further increasing this threshold, without compromising the performance characteristics of the finished product or increasing the level of CO2 emissions from the production process. It is the physical properties of the binder that are of particular interest, as these allow traditional products to be given new functionalities that were previously not possible with Portland cement. The development of innovative mix-designs, with the use of special natural or recycled aggregates and the addition of mineral fillers, have made it possible to obtain products capable of solving a multitude of problems that were previously difficult to solve with traditional concrete products. It is not subject to carbonation or alcohols/silica reactivity, but only to salts that are soluble in water. Robust and carriageable with performance conforming to UNI EN 1338 standards. With filtering surface and surface sanitising properties on liquids, thanks to silver oxide. High residual pH and low chloride penetration for longer life. Resistance to chemical attack by both organic solvents and acidic and/or alkaline aqueous solutions. Heat refractoriness with lower thermal inertia of the surface.
