Ray is a new cantilever chair, designed by jehs+laub. At first sight, ray comes across as restrained, yet it is strikingly different: the flowing lines and the seamless transition from frame to shell are just as innovative as the ergonomic back shell.Already at first sight, this cantilever chair is fascinating, with its flowing formal language and its delicate yet powerful, dynamic look and feel. The die-cast aluminium armrests are invisibly attached to the plastic shell, and just as pervasive and seamless is the transition from frame to seat shell. “ray is a fluid interplay of shell, armrest and frame”, as the two designers from Stuttgart characterise their design.
