Remix vol. 6 office game

REmix vol.6 Office Game is an office storage unit with drawers in black painted chipboard with colored ash magnets. Taking work as a game is what Trini Salamanca and Pablo Párraga, members of Las �nimas, have done to address this new edition of the REmix project, started by BD in 2016. In this case, it was about taking advantage of the remains of the Aula Integral System, a wardrobe, a table and a side drawer, designed by Pete Sans in 1996, marketed by BD since 2002 and subsequently discontinued. After passing through the workshop of this couple of young Sevillian artists, the furniture has entered another dimension to become a work of art without losing its original functionality. The concept behind its interpretation has been to create an analog video game, a material geometric projection of an imaginary cyber world that the user can change at will. It is a unique series because there is only one copy. It is complemented by 570 small geometric pieces of wood of different colors, magnetized, also made by hand by the artists. With them you can make infinite combinations. It is part of the BD Art Editions catalogue. “Respecting the original form and use at all times, we have transformed the surfaces of this office furniture into a black (and white) canvas, a futuristic checkerboard in continuous change and alteration thanks to interaction, which favors creativity, concentration and the creation of another universe with no rules other than the imagination». Las �nimas materials and finishes Unique pieces. A black painted fibreboard with inserted magnets. White graphics in white. Geometric objects (three shapes) made of ash wood and an incorporated magnet in the following colours: yellow, cyan, blue, red and green. The final client can customise the geometric pieces to create his/her own composition. This project has been named REmix, since it has something of a mix, like disco music that was fashionable at the same time the original pieces were designed. To complete it we have had the help and participation of different authors. REmix Vol.1 is a limited set of candle holders (1) made by Curro Claret. Because of his profile and trajectory, we couldn’t have chosen a better designer to start with the project. REmix Vol.2 is a limited set of cabinets (2), developed by Ramón Úbeda and the BD technical team.
